Jean Shin: Glasscape

In this elaborate installation, thousands of empty wine bottles transform the gallery space into a luminous landscape of glass. The bottles become elements of a new terrain while alluding to glass’ humble origin as sand. This project redefines the architectural features of the gallery while exploring the transparent and colorful qualities of the glass bottles. It also reveals the underlying beauty of this familiar object when amassed and references the significance of wine to the cultural heritage and physical landscape of France.
