The Steps series collages are made out of deconstructed and flattened shoe parts. The specific materials used—the innermost leather and cloth linings—are those that lay closest to the body. Some of the collages make reference to footprints, others are more abstract and anthropomorphic, and still others suggest architectural floor plans.
