The artist has reduced series of white oxford shirts into their collars, cuffs, buttons and seams. Shin stitched the shirts together side by side suggesting a clothesline. Oxford shirts are the staple of the white-collar uniform, but these emptied shirts form a kind of endless and perhaps replaceable workforce all lined up. In Clothesline, the figure is absent; only the ghostly traces of the skeletal structure remain.
